Portland Cement Association Webinar: Roller Compacted Concrete for Dams

Roller-compacted Concrete (RCC) has been used to construct and rehabilitate dams in the United States for decades. Although RCC has essentially the same hardened properties as conventional concrete, RCC is placed using methods usually associated with earthen dam construction. Benefits of RCC dams include rapid construction, lower cost, superior strength and durability, and fewer maintenance requirements than comparable earthen embankment structures. In addition to the use of RCC to build new dams, RCC is commonly used to rehabilitate earthen embankment dams to increase spillway capacity and provide over topping protection.

This free one-hour webinar will discuss the basics of RCC with examples of recent successful applications to dam projects.

Program features:
•    Free PDF of the presentation slides
•    Free PDF of the following publications: Design Manual for Small RCC Dams, RCC Spillways and Overtopping Protection
•    One (1) Professional Development Hour (PDH) for attendees, requires survey response
