Synopsis:

As more and more land becomes subject to urban or industrial development, good construction sites are difficult to find, subsequently ground improvement in many cases has become the most preferred option of site remediation, technically and economically. Ground improvement technologies consists of geotechnical construction means to improve and alter existing poor ground conditions, allowing embankment and structure construction projects meet their performance requirements. Ground improvement, more than ever, has been used as a Value Engineering solution in lieu of conventional piling methods and where soil replacement is not feasible or otherwise too costly.  This presentation will provide a description of various ground improvement techniques along with case studies from some of AGI’s completed projects to provide perspective.
